Empty Bridges

Imagine with me for a moment. Imagine you're running across this bridge and you're running for something, towards something. You don't know what, but you're hoping at the end of this bridge or this run that it's there. You're seeking more. You've been running this whole time seeking to find satisfaction and at the end of the bridge... there's nothing for you. Nothing left.
That's what this whole world is doing, running towards, and for nothing. So many people are going to get to the end of the bridge, get to the end of their life, and there's going to be nothing. This whole time they were chasing after nothing. What are you chasing? Are you chasing after something that's going to last? Are you chasing after Jesus Christ? Are you chasing after God? Worldly things will fade, but God will be the only thing that will satisfy, the only thing that will be at the end of that bridge, He is who is going to be there. He's the One that lasts. That satisfies. That stays. If you're chasing anything else but Him, you're going to get to the end and there's going to be nothing left. Because it all fades away. It all rusts. It all gets old. It's all worth nothing. Vanity, all is vanity. Imagine running for that long, chasing after something to satisfy you, chasing after that thing, you don't know what it is. You just long to be satisfied, you want to stop running, you're just trying to get to the end. And when you get there... there's nothing there. Everything is gone. You have nothing left. We're running. But we know what we are running towards and Who is at the end of that bridge. We know what we're pursuing. The world is pursuing satisfaction and through their life, they're trying to find it in everything else BUT God.
Can you imagine that feeling of hopelessness? It puts things in perspective. We're all running towards something. Some of us know Who we are running to and for. But everybody else has no idea. And may never know. When they get to the end of their life, they find that all they did, all the things they tried to place their worth and value in and find satisfaction in... left them with nothing. They get to the end and it's just the end. Because they placed their worth and value, not in Him, but in everything else. You should desire to tell people about Him. Tell them THERE'S MORE. We are all running, but we can run TO Someone and FOR Someone. There's Someone to aim and live for. And when we get to the end it'll be the greatest glory we could ever imagine. When we get to the end... Well,
Well done good and faithful servant...
Tell them there's more than empty bridges.
