Empty Souls, Full Hope

An upside down world. Where what they say will make you full leaves you empty. What they say is worth gold is actually worth nothing. Disagreements mean an execution from their lives. Friendships means nothing more to people than an extra like on their post. So many Christians forget that this is not their home and are left feeling so empty from this world, because they trusted the lies they were told. I'm guilty of it too. We all seek that "perfect" life, "perfect" body, "perfect" friendship, but we come up empty. Why? Because that's what the world gives. Because the world is not what is supposed to fill us, He is. Nothing we do will ever be enough or reach that mark, so we will always feel less than, and like a failure. It is not us, it's Him, and if we think we can be everything all at once, we will constantly be empty. The "motto" for my blog is "Take a break from the world and jump into the Word." I love that saying because if we don't take a break from social media or the news and never dig into what He says about us or about the world, we are getting filled with lies and no truth. I've had to take breaks from social media, because that's the best place for the enemy to use fake pictures and people to lie to you about who you are or who you need to be. And it becomes exhausting if you're trying to keep up with everyone. The latest trends, style, body type, workouts, etc. The world is exhausting because it requests so much from you and promises all these followers or likes or friends. But, we need to remember, the world only takes, it does not give. Why do you feel so empty? Because we are all Ariel from the Little Mermaid, giving up ourselves, and expecting something greater in return, but it's never a fair trade, not with the devil. In John 10:10 it says,

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)

The devil comes only to steal and kill and destroy. There is nothing that says he comes to trade or give back. Thieves do not give back what they've stolen. The devil will not give you back what he has stolen, until you remember Whose you are. When you take your sword, His Word (Hebrews 4:12), and fight, the devil has no choice but to give back what he stole. Not because of you, but because of Him. Truth makes the darkness run and hide. His victory allows you to fight from victory, not for it, because He already won. When we remember Whose we are and who He is, the devil runs, because of God's power. The devil has no choice but to flee.

When we immerse ourselves constantly in the world instead of the Word, no wonder we feel so drained and empty. The devil only comes to do that. But that's why it's so important to take a break from the worldly things and dive into His Word. Because Jesus came and comes so that we can have LIFE and have it to the FULL. He leaves us full and He speaks truth. His Word fills the empty voids the devil leaves. His Word is true gold. But no wonder all these people struggle with mental issues or gender issues, because they constantly miss the mark society tells them they need to meet. How draining it is to live with that weight. Let us live full. Let us live so others see, there's Hope. Let us live with our chains broken, because of Him. Let us live so others see Him. Let us not be empty souls, but let us fill ourselves with His filling Word, and live with our full Hope.

Dear Standards and Society,

You tell me who I need to be

You tell me who I cannot be

You never let me be me

You leave all looking for their gold and treasure

When really you know it is not found in your measures

Yet,

All are left empty because that’s what you give

Looking to be full, you sell null

I won’t even mention the hurt you cause

Approval is everything

Opinions are silver and gold

Different is anything but good

My life is based on what others communicate is understood

This is what you say.

This is what you demand.

What happens when I go against this demand?

Freedom unrolls like a red carpet

Joy unfolds like a flower, blooming

I’m free from your prison

From your cage

From your dungeon

There’s Someone greater who loves me for me

The one in the world has no hold on me

I am found and I am free

Standards and Society,

The devil lingers in your air,

He prowls after your targets

My air is unpoisoned.

I am no longer threatened

Boldly, all I have left to say is….
