Hoping in the Good

Hope. The world hopes in all sorts of things, people, and circumstances. I think we can easily get caught up in hoping for things of the world instead of focusing on hoping in God, always. How do you hope in Him with your circumstances, situations, or people? You hope that His will would be done and you hope His goodness would prevail, even if the good doesn't match up with your desires. We all have desires and we can easily allow our desires to drag us away from Him. We fail to recognize that whatever He does is and will be good! That whatever the outcome is, it will be wonderful. That whether that door stays open or closes, His way is best. His way is good. Whether you walk in or out of that door, despite what you want, He is good and the outcome will be or become good. I'll be honest the goodness isn't always obvious to us. But we need to remember that we have a good God, So whatever He does, whatever He touches, it will be good because all of Him is good. But no, it is not easy to struggle and experience the pain from a circumstance, situation, or person. Know that His plan is better. That it is better it went for or against your desires. Whatever He decides to do is greatest. Trust in Him. Hope for the good you know He is and has. Hoping in worldly things can be so so difficult because it lets us down. People are... well, people. Things fade and go away. The world is broken and can only sell brokenness. God is perfect and good and only gives GOOD.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. -James 1:17
And He also doesn't change!! The world does! But He stays the same. Always.
I'd like to leave you with a quote from Lysa Terkeurst.
"My hope is chained to the unchanging promise of God. I hope for the good I know God will ultimately bring from this, whether the good matches up with my desires or not."
Don't allow your hope to be chained to the world, but rather chained the God and knowing that no matter the outcome, it will be good.
