Light in the Darkness

It's difficult being a Light. Day after day we need to ignite our light in us and let it shine. Even when we're exhausted and our wick feels like it's running short. In that moment is when we need to realize that we need to rely on God. We need to rely on Him to be our energy and know He's the one igniting our Light and burning it anew each day.

You, Lord, keep my lamp burning;

my God turns my darkness into light.

Ps. 18:28

We're left worn out due to the constant battle of pushing back darkness every second. But if we would just rely on Him to be the Light that He is and lay that burden on Him, the weight should be light. Darkness HATES light, especially His. And I'm going to ask you to do something that's going to make you feel uneasy, possibly even scared. Here it is... Pray. To. Be. Light. Pray to be Light in this world, in the darkness, pray to push back darkness with His light. Why would that be scary? Because if you ask to be a light... He isn't going to put you in situations that already have light. He's going to put you where you'll shine the brightest, which is the darkness. He doesn't give you more than you can handle, He doesn't put you in the dark to become dark, but rather to PUSH back the darkness. He knows you can do it, because it's Him in you. If you'll just rely and rest in Him, He'll push back the darkness. This world is a dark place. We see constantly the longing for that Light. But they're trying to find the Light while they yell at it, try to put it out, run away from it. They try to find what their soul longs for in everything BUT what will satisfy. Pray that you would be a light. It's not easy, but we weren't promised it would be. Know that you'll find yourself involved in dark, hard, and sad situations. Maybe these situations aren't even with your life, it doesn't mean YOU will experience these dark situations. But you might find yourself involved in them, whether it be a friends' situation, or a situation at work or school, etc. And when you find that all these people you know are going through hard/dark times... Let God shine His Light through you. Be a light. Even when you are a light, people might not get it. People won't understand or comprehend why or how or what.

The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:5

In a world where bushels are all around trying to hide your light. NO! I'm. Gonna. Let. It. Shine. Be a light that's unafraid of the dark, because you know it flees in His Presence. It flees from His Light. Remember, it won't be easy, but oh the joy from being a Light for Him!!
