The Lost Get Found

We need to be ok admitting that we've been lost, we've chosen wrong over right, that we've gone astray. If we don't ever admit these things, we won't be found. The lost get found. The sheep that go astray get brought back. I'm not telling you to get lost, but I am saying that when you do get lost, admit it. Let God find you again and bring you back. God can't find us if we don't believe we are lost. Think of a child lost in a grocery store, trying to find their parents. If you asked them if they were lost and they responded with yes, you are able to help them find their parents. But if they said no, when they were lost, then you couldn't help them find their parents. You'd obviously assume, they were not lost. Although God knows when we are lost, He isn't going to force you to be found. If you push Him away, reject being found, He isn't going to force you to leave your lost life. Some people think being lost is better than being found. People don't want to give up their sin, because it's hard. It means sacrificing the old. In Luke 15:24, Jesus compares lost and found, to being dead and alive. When we are lost, at first, we feel so alive. We feel like we can do anything, that we are free. But at some point, that lost feeling sets in. Over and over throughout the old testament, we see the Israelites wander, we see them turn away from God. Several times they build idols and worship them. We see them stop trusting God and begin complaining because they had no food, or the food they had was boring, they stopped trusting God was Provider. But eventually, they asked for forgiveness, the sheep returned, the prodigal sons came home, the lost were found. Admitting our wrongs, admitting we got lost, isn't easy. Sometimes just realizing that you are lost is hard. The devil likes to make it seem like when we are lost, we are actually found, and vice versa. Because once we recognize we are lost, we usually sought to be found, and do all we can to return to the Father. So, if the devil can make us feel at peace with being lost, he can make us be content with being lost, and can silence the want to be found. I am thankful for a God who seeks after me when I am lost. That He is standing there with open arms, ready to bring me back.

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God... Romans 3:23

It doesn't say some, but rather ALL have gone astray, ALL have sinned and fall short. Be aware of getting lost, choosing your way over His way, choosing wrong over right. The devil will do everything he can to trick you into thinking that you are found, that your way is better, wrong is right. Come back. He doesn't deny the lost, but finds the lost. He doesn't reject the prodigal son, but welcomes him home (Luke 15). Come home. Admit you're lost and need Him. Allow God to find you and guide you back. He isn't going to find you, if you're content being lost. If we don't care about being found, why would He force you to be?
