Something the devil can get our minds set on doing is thinking God isn't there. Whatever situation, circumstance, issues, He isn't there. And by thinking that, we begin to live as if He isn't there. When we live as if He isn't there, we sin with the excuse that "God doesn't see me." We feel alone. We live as if we are lost. If the devil can make us feel spiritually lost, even for a moment, he can use that to spiral us to being completely and actually lost. He can use it to harm our relationship with God. We even begin to distance ourselves from God, because once we realize that we've been living and believing that He isn't there, it's hard to admit it and repent. Now, the devil doesn't always make us believe God isn't there, He might make us question His power. Something I realize is that we call God a lot of things we call people of the world as well, such as; Father, Friend, Protector, Provider, Comforter, Trustworthy, etc. I think in doing this, we can get caught up in matching Him up with the things/people of the world. For instance, we call God, Father. Well, we may associate Him and begin to think of Him exactly like our earthly fathers. For some, this can make us think of God in a negative light. When someone who struggles with trust, calling God trustworthy isn't comforting, it's terrifying. We begin to think of all the people who broke our trust and we think God will be the same way. I think a big mistake we all make is we call God, A father, A friend, A protector, A provider. This labels Him as "just another." Instead of recognizing His power. Instead of realizing who He is and finding comfort in the fact that He's not just another. Change the article. Know who He is. He is: THE Father, THE Friend, THE protector, THE provider, THE Way, THE Truth, THE Life. Stop treating Him as if He's just the one who was. No, He is the one who was and IS and IS TO COME. Some of you need that comfort today. He isn't the world. He isn't like it in any way. I have been gifted with an amazing dad, and it's hard for me to believe that God can be even better, but God is the best dad. God's the One. He is THE beginning and the end. Not just A beginning and an end. He's not just another book. He is God. He is mighty. He does see you. But do you see Him? And if you do, do you actually see Him? Do you see Him as The Father or A father? The friend or A friend? Do you see Him as The? Don't let your views of the world impact how you see God. I know your trust might've been hurt by someone, but that doesn't make God less trustworthy. I know you might've been hurt by that friend, but that doesn't make God less of the Friend He is. What people of the world do to you doesn't relate to how God will treat you. Of all the words listed above to describe God, He is the perfect example of. There's no getting better than Him, but everyone will fall short of Him. No person will be the perfect friend, protector, provider, etc. This world will disappoint and we expect that, but God will not. We can't just stop trusting God because someone broke it. We can't push God away from being our friend just because a friend hurt us. He isn't like them. He isn't them. He won't fail. We can't push Him away and not give Him a chance. We can't build our "wall" up higher, even though He gave us every reason to trust Him more! If our friendship, trust, or father fails, breaks, or hurts us, who will we have to turn to, if we pushed God away too? Who would we turn to if we didn't allow Him to be The Friend, Father, and Loyal God He is? He is THE, not A.
