Walking Worship

The other day, I was walking around with worship music playing on my phone. I stopped and thought... wow, what would it be like if we lived like this?
What would it be like if our lives were walking worship to God? That by living, we joined in with the assembly of angels crying "holy, holy, holy" in the throne room. What a joy! We don't have to wait to give God the praise and glory He deserves until we are there with Him. He deserves praise and glory starting now and forevermore. How do we live lives that bring worship, glory, and honor due His name? We live in surrender. Remain in a state of gratitude. Walk in obedience. Aim for Christ. No matter the season or circumstances, this should be how we strive to live.
Live surrendered. From the beginning of time, we have never liked being submitted. Adam and Eve were submitted to God until they had the choice to control. Control what they thought was a better future and control the present. Restrictions are never fun to abide by, but when the restrictions/boundaries are God oriented, they are always a blessing. Never a curse. And, in Adam and Eve's case, they took a blessed restriction and by ignoring it, ended up with a cursed destiny.
Remain in a state of gratitude. This is never easy, but is always a choice we get to make. Gratitude is an attitude we can choose to have or choose to reject. But, when we choose to be grateful, especially in hard seasons, our hearts are drawn nearer to Him. When we choose to praise Him despite circumstances, we are participating in what our souls were created to do. Worship Him. Giving the glory due His Name for all we DO have. There are blessings in all things and in every season, the question is not if they are there, the question is... will you choose to see them and recognize them? And recognize Who they came from?
Walk in obedience. Actions speak louder than words. We can say we're surrendered, but actions will show our heart. If we say we are surrendered, but never change. Never step. Never move. Then our surrender is nothing more than a checked box off of our list. Obedience requires intentional action and it requires sacrifice. To the rich man who wanted eternal life Jesus said, "Jesus answered, 'If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.' When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth." (Matt. 19:21-22)
Aim for Christ. (Philippians 2:5-8)
"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and have himself for me."
-Galatians 2:20
"Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
-Ephesians 5:1-2
We are called to imitate God and follow His example. While we will not perfectly achieve being like Christ, let us stumble and fall, giving our best efforts as we aim for Christ under the grace and love of God in our imperfections.
Let us live lives that echo the "holy, holy's" being sung in Heaven. Lives that give Him all the glory and honor He deserves. Despite the circumstances or seasons of life we find ourselves in, one thing never changes, His Name still deserves to be praised.
